About This Course
This in-person, classroom program is designed for final-year students, fresh graduates and developers with 1–2 years of experience who want a practical, beginner-friendly introduction to system design and software architecture.
Curriculum
Module 1 — Foundations of System Design: What system design is and why it matters, scalability, availability, latency versus throughput, and back-of-the-envelope estimation.
Module 2 — Core Building Blocks: Load balancing, caching, SQL versus NoSQL databases, indexing basics, and content delivery networks.
Module 3 — Designing for Scale: Horizontal versus vertical scaling, database replication and sharding basics, message queues, and microservices versus monolith trade-offs.
Module 4 — Practice & Case Studies: Designing simplified versions of real-world systems such as a URL shortener, a chat application and a rate limiter, structuring your answers for system design interviews, and a capstone design exercise with mentor feedback.
Delivered in person at our campus, with whiteboard sessions and direct mentor access.
Prerequisites
Basic programming experience and familiarity with how a typical web application works (frontend, backend, database).
